To all the outgoing 5th graders, we would like to wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors in sixth grade!!! Enjoy Madison and all of the exciting opportunities that are coming your way!

To all of the incoming 5^th graders, we are excited to get to be your teachers in the fall of 2009. We hope that you have a restful and relaxing summer filled with lots of fun! We also have a few pointers that will help you to be prepared for fifth grade! First off, we hope that your summer is not only filled with sunshine but with books too! The goal is to read one “just right” book per week throughout the summer. It is also vital that you know all your multiplication and division facts for digits 1-12 with accuracy and speed.  We do a lot of complex thinking in fifth grade math and the students who know their facts quickly and accurately often have less stress. Additionally, it is beneficial to keep a summer journal to keep your writing skills fresh! We’re looking forward to meeting you in August!!!
