HEALTH AND SAFETY - Volunteers run the Helping Hand Program along with scheduling other volunteers for the Hearing and Vision testing done at school. Helping Hand Program is coordinated with the Naperville Police Department. Families put placards in their front window so that children know they can go there if they are scared, lost or need help.

Volunteers also staff activities the day of the carnival.

ROOM PARENTS - Parents from each classroom are needed to plan and organize (after collaboration with the classroom teacher) the Halloween, Winter and Valentine parties. Room parents also often coordinate classroom teacher gifts.

SCHOOL STORE - School Store is provided as a service and is responsible for putting together bags of school supplies at the beginning of the school year for all students who have purchased their items through the school store. Volunteers conduct the supply sale in spring, work with vendors on delivery and maintain inventory of items that are not available in stores during the school year.

SFCP (School Family Community Partnership) - The mission is to enhance River Woods students’ learning and development by being a proactive resource in promoting, strengthening, and celebrating the partnership that exists between School, Families, and the Naperville Community.  Volunteers are needed to help plan and organize activities, which include Walk to School Day, Earth Day, and Navigating the Social Network Series for Parents.   Volunteers will also help generate new program ideas.

SPIRIT WEAR - Spirit Wear is clothing with the River Woods Elementary logo and is sold as a service to River Woods students, families and teachers. Volunteers compile the order forms and distribute the clothing when it comes in.
