November 9
8:30 a.m.		 4/5th Intermediate "America Proud" the Veteran's Day program
December 6
1:00 p.m.		 1st and 2nd grade musical, "Our House is a Holiday House"
February 22
1:00 p.m.		 5th Grade Fine Arts Musical , "Music on the Move"

7:00 p.m.		 3rd grade Art and 4 th grade PE Showcase

2007-08 Important Dates
Field Trips and Visiting Performers 

October 24 River Woods Home & School sponsored artists in residence, "Opera for the Young" from Madison, Wisconsin, performing Orpheus Returns
November 6 4th grades will attend the Lyric Opera's performance, "Cinderella," at Pfeiffer Hall
December 12 2nd grades will attend the Dance West performance of "The Nutcracker Suite" at Pfeiffer Hall.
November 15 4/5 Intermediate will take a Fine Arts field trip to the Lyric Opera for their Backstage Tour
February 13 5th grades will take a Fine Arts field trip to the CSO and Art Institute in Chicago


Mrs. Patrick and Mrs. Sarin Houston (Art teacher) have written and received 6 Fine Arts Grants in district #203. The grant topics have involved cultures, composers & artists, spiraling Fine Arts and cross-curriculum activities for all of their students:

2005-06 "Nothing Toulouse , Opera to Gain"
2004-05 "From Picasso to Presley"
2003-04 "Did Louis Armstrong Really Walk on the Moon?"
2002-03 "Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor and I'll Give You Gershwin and Warhol"
2001-02 "Leonardo DeCaprio did NOT Paint the Mona Lisa, and Beethoven is NOT a St. Bernard"
2000-01 "The HeART of the World is Music"
