All About Student Council

In November, two children from each classroom (grades 2-5) are selected to be student council representatives. We have two meetings each month. One meeting is the small group. This is where we talk about the agenda for the large group meeting. The following week the small group leads the large group meeting. This gives everyone a leadership role. The small groups rotate from month to month. We do not have officers; everyone is an equal member. Students sign and are expected to follow the Student Council Oath. To give everyone a chance, children can only serve on student council for one school year.

Student Council Oath: As a River Woods Student Council member I promise to be the best I can be. I promise to be kind, safe, loyal, honest, and respectful. I understand that I am a role model for other students at River Woods School and my behavior sets an example for all to follow. I am aware that poor behavior choices can result in me being relieved from my student council duties.

Spirit Days:

Every Friday is Spirit Wear Day! Wear your River Woods spirit wear OR red, white, or blue.
