About the director...

Mr. Bailey received his Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in 1980. He received his Masters Degree in Leadership and Administration from North Central College in 1999. Mr. Bailey is an accomplished trumpet player, performing with the DuPage Symphony from 1980-1985 as Associate Principal, and performing with the Southwest Symphony from 1988-1992 as Principal Trumpet. He also managed the Southwest Symphony from 1989-1992.
Mr. Bailey formed Bailey's Chamber Brass in 1983, a brass quintet dedicated to performing classic and contemporary brass music. The group continues to perform at a variety of functions in the Chicagoland area.

Mr. Bailey has also been a piano tuner and repair technician since 1981.

About the program...

The River Woods Band performs several times throughout the year, including winter program performances, a spring concert, the fifth grade band festival, and the Memorial Day Parade. Throughout the year students are working on performance music as well as achievement lines and scale requirements. Additional performances are occasionally scheduled for special events.
