Naperville News Channel 17 visted Ranch View School on Veterans Day.  Click here to view the presentation.

As a reminder, Ranch View is utilizing a two bell system for after school dismissal.  At 2:30 the first bell rings which signals the end to the instructional day and a time for students to gather their belongings from hallways.  At 2:35 the second bell sounds which signals dismissal.  Bus riders will be dismissed first through doors 4 and 5, car pool riders will be dismissed through door 1 and walkers will be dismissed last through doors 6 and 7.  An important safety reminder that dogs or any other family pets are not allowed on school property when school is in session and students are present.  Please do not bring pets to school as you pick up your students.

The City of Naperville and the Naperville Police Department wish to remind residents that a new law went into effect as of January 1, 2010, which bans talking on cellular phones while in construction and School Speed Zones.

Another new law makes it illegal to compose, send or read text messages, read or compose e-mail, look at the Internet or otherwise compose or send any type of electronic message while driving.

Performance Testing

Students in 2nd through 5th grade will participate in reading and math assessments three times throughout the year (September, January and April). The assessment is Internet based, is computer adaptive, and is aligned to state standards. Teachers receive immediate results and are able to see student growth with just a few mouse clicks.

Please encourage your students to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and come to school with a positive attitude. Some scheduled activities may be changed to accomodate the assessments.  Please check back-pack mail and Talk 203 for further information.
