Jeanine Nicarico Literacy Fund
Beginning at River Woods School at 7:30 am
About Jeanine
Jeanine Nicarico was a bright-eyed little girl with a dimpled smile and a caring heart. She had grown to love school and reading almost as much as horses, puppies, gardening, baking, and make-believe games. Jeanine was ten years old when, in 1983, she was abducted from her Na-perville home and murdered. This loss was felt not only by her family and friends, but also by the Naperville community. The Jeanine Nicarico Literacy Fund was founded to celebrate her life – it's a wonderful way to remember Jeanine and the gift she was to all who knew her.
The Ranch View Connection
Since 1996, the fund has provided more than $100,000 in grants to public and private schools in Naperville School Districts 203 and 204, benefitting all ages, from babies to senior citizens. Ranch View School has received Nicarico grants on behalf of Mrs. Ustian, Mrs. King, and Mrs. Rule to support student growth in a variety of curricular areas. Please plan on joining our team of teachers as we walk in support of the fund and the good work being done to promote literacy in our community.
How To Participate
A group of Ranch View teachers will be walking and we look forward to students and parents joining us! All family members are welcome to participate. The cost per walker is $20.00. Wear your Ranch View spirit wear and look for the Ranch View team at River Woods School at 7:10 am, before the walk begins. Join us as we work to live the Ranch View mission of becoming community contributors!

Parents often ask if they can donate books to the library. Here is your opportunity to do so. In an effort to expand our library collection, we are offering you the chance to browse through a wish list of titles and purchase one or more books to the Ranch View Library if you desire. 100% of all donations go directly to our library. Our goal is $5,000 by May 11, 2012.
