Yearbook:  Please!  Juniors, Check Your Photo by Friday, Nov 20th.

In an effort to cut down on the amount of errors in our yearbook, we need your help!

Juniors--Until Friday, November 20th a copy or your junior photo and your name (as entered into the HRI database) will be posted in the student activities window.  It will be YOUR job to make sure that you are pictured and that your name is spelled correctly. If you do not do this, we cannot guarantee that you are indeed pictured correctly and that the spelling of your name is correct.  If you see a problem with your picture, like your picture and name do not match, or that your name is spelled incorrectly, you can go into the Student Activities office and fill out an ""Error Message"" form and submit it to us so that it can be corrected for printing in the yearbook.

The same error checking will be done for Sophomores (11/25-12/7), and Freshman (12/7-12/11).  Please remind your student to check!

   Authentic Learning Opportunity/Service Hours

St Patrick's Residence is looking for three computer savvy students to create resident biographies. This is an excellent way to gain both work experience and service hours.  The computer work includes: Scanning photographs using Microsoft Power Point; adding captions that will be provided by the family; inserting computer graphics and adding music of family choosing.  Interested students should contact Mr. Wachtel in the CTE Office, by phone at (630) 420-6530, or email at jwachtel@naperville203.org

 Transcript Request Procedures

Students, please, deliver your request for transcripts to Ms. Krashen personally, do not just drop them off.  Why?  Ms. Krashen reviews all the requests to make sure that they are completed correctly to avoid any slow-down in processing them.  Transcript requests should precede the application deadline by several weeks.  If the application deadline is Nov 15, transcripts should be ordered by Oct 23; Dec 1 (Nov 6); Jan 1 (Nov 23); Jan 15 (Dec 7).

Featured  Completing Application for January 1?  Need a Transcript?

Seniors who have college application deadlines of Jan. 1 should turn in transcript requests by this coming Mon., Nov. 23.  The Student Services Offices are not open during Winter Break, so counselor forms and letters that will go with the transcripts will need to be completed before the break.  Please turn these transcript requests in to Mrs. Krashen as soon as possible.

 Naviance, College Planning Website

The NNHS Student Services department has announced a new web-based college and career exploration and planning website, "Naviance."  For those of you who utilized "PrepHQ" in the past, this is a similar type of resource.  Juniors and seniors have received registration codes for Naviance and are encouraged to set up personalized accounts.  Students should share their user name and password with their parent.  Parents can also login as a "Guest" (password:  blueandorange) and explore Naviance.  The website is http://connection.naviance.com/napervillenorth.  A link is also available on the NNHS website.

 NCAA Clearinghouse

Seniors who are planning to participate in college athletics in fall 2010 should visit the NCAA website for information about registering with teh Clearinghouse for eligibility:  www.eligibilitycenter.org.  Eligibility must be established in order for students to participate in Division I or II athletics.  It is important to register now and begin this process to prevent future difficulties.
