School, Family, Community Partnership

 We will kick off the Ozzie Reading Club on Friday, October 2.  Ozzie will be coming to the school to visit each classroom. The Ozzie Reading Club is a reading incentive program that Naper School does every year. The program lasts for 8 weeks.  An Ozzie Reading Club calendar will be coming home on October 2 for students and parents to fill out. When the eight weeks are up, your child’s completed  calendar is to be returned to his/her classroom teacher. Later in the year you will receive a flyer for a FREE ticket to the Kane County Cougars game and the opportunity to buy tickets for the other members of your family. There will be a date chosen in the spring for  the Ozzie Club readers from Naper to attend a game. Club readers will also get to parade onto the field and meet some of the players and will  receive a t-shirt and coupon to the concession stand. Sounds like a winner to me! All you have to do is read.  We will also hold another reading incentive with Great America after the winter break. Look for details on that later in the school year.

The Student Banking program takes place on Thursday mornings from 8:00-8:30 am.  We need a parent/guardian or a group of parents/guardians of fourth grade students to volunteer to supervise this activity.  The 4th Grade Student Bankers run this program that is provided by students for students. Student banking is an opportunity that reinforces basic math skills and teaches students responsibility, teamwork, and effective communication. Please contact me if you are interested in working with the fourth grade students Thursday mornings.

All SFCP meetings are at 6:45pm before the Home and School Meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the following months:  September, October, November, January, March and May.  October's meeting is on Thursday, October 16th due to NO SCHOOL on the 15th.
