Mrs. Plackett

Mrs. Plackett grew up in Calumet City, Illinois and received her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University and her master's degree from Northern Illinois University. She began her teaching career in Bellwood, Illinois but left after seven years to raise her family. She returned to work on a part time basis at Benedictine University, Waubonsee Community College, and then DePaul University.  When Kennedy Junior High added seventh grade in its second year, she returned to full time teaching on the Carp Team. Mrs. Plackett has lived in Lisle for 29 years with her husband, John, and her three sons. Tim, her oldest, graduated from the University of Illinois and is completing his residency in surgery.  He is a captain  in the U.S. Army and stationed in Honolulu. Her middle son, Jeff, teaches English at Naperville Central and coaches the girls' water polo team.  He is also one of the heavyweight football coaches here at Kennedy.  Her youngest son, Brian, graduated from Western Illinois University and is a police officer in Carol Stream.  Reading is one of her favorite pastimes along with many outdoor activities like swimming, biking, and running.  She also has a passion for traveling.
