Mr. Getting

Mr. Getting teaches Science and Social Science on the Crazy Eights team. Growing up in Naperville, Mr. Getting had the pleasure of receiving a quality District 203 education from elementary school through high school graduation. While in high school Mr. Getting played volleyball and basketball, two sports he currently coaches at Kennedy.
After graduating from the University of Iowa, Mr. Getting enjoyed a successful career as a software consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and J.D. Edwards/PeopleSoft. During this time, he volunteered as a youth leader at his church and coached club volleyball. It was through these experiences with middle school students that he realized the depth of his desire to teach.
Mr. Getting has since received his Masters degree from National-Louis University with endorsements in Science, Math, Social Science, and Computer Technology. In 2004, Mr. Getting received Kennedy's ""first year teacher of the year"" award. Beyond the classroom, Mr. Getting invests in the Kennedy community through coaching (basketball and volleyball), intramurals (soccer), clubs (crossroads), and serving on several school and district committees (Home & School, SFCP, School Improvement Team, Tech Committee, Those Who Excel, and the District 203 Science Assessment Committee). Mr. Getting and his wife, Gina, currently live in Plainfield. They have a daughter (Taylor) and two sons (CJ and Nolan).
