World Languages Web Page

The Jefferson World Languages program offers Spanish, French and German for 7th and 8th graders.  Currently there are 11 section of Spanish and 3 sections of French.  Students have the option of signing up for one of the World Languages for both 7th and 8th grade or they continue in the Applied Sciences classes.  Two years (7th and 8th) of a World Language at the junior high is equivalent to one year of that language at the high school level.  For example, the 7th grade Spanish curriculum is the same as Spanish I first semester at NNHS and the 8th grade Spanish curriculum is equal to Spanish I second semester.  If the student completes the two years successfully in junior high they may enter into the Level II of the language their freshman year of high school.
