For the parents/guardians:

What your child will gain from taking Family and Consumer Science (FACS) class is a lifetime of practical skills.  Many of these skills are keys to your child's young adult independence.  Responsibilities will change as your child grows in middle school.  They will undergo many changes and so will you.  I hope as your child takes FACS class, you will notice a positive change in your child.  Expect more help with household chores and tasks, consciously choosing a healthier diet, creating or personalizing items, and improving interpersonal relationships.  I hope you will see the importance of these classes and support your child in all of these areas. 

For the students:

FACS class will most likely be one of the many highlights of your school day!  I hope that you will listen intently, participate enthusiastically, and have fun while learning!  We will be on daily adventures some positive some challenging.  Most of the tasks we will complete will come easy to you but some will challenge you to try your hardest!  I hope that you will always put your best foot forward and try your hardest to be the best you can be in FACS class!  I look forward to answering your questions and helping you become more independent!
