Welcome to the Applied Technology Lab at Jefferson Junior High!  Technology enriches, excites and engages.  We live in a world that requires technological skills for productive and fulfilling professional and personal lives.  In this course your son or daughter will experience the possibilities and promises of technology. 

The Applied Technology Lab at Jefferson Junior High offers students the opportunity to work "hands on" with a variety of modular programs.  Students will use software, equipment and supplies to investigate, explore, create and problem-solve.  Projects represent the fields of communication (computer graphic design, digital video editing and desktop publishing), transportation (auto exploration and aerodynamics), manufacturing (automation, robotics and CO2 raceway), architectural design and others.  The modules by grade level are described below.

Sixth grade students will complete four modules and a create a newsletter for the final project.  Click on the links for a description of each module:

Seventh grade students will complete five modules.  They will also design and produce a marketing presentation for the final project.  Click on the links for a description of each module:

Eighth grade students will complete six modules.  Three modules are required (*), and the students will select an additional three modules.  For the final project, students will research and present information about a technology career.  Click on the links for a description of each module:

The goals of the Applied Technology program:

• To teach students to understand and manage specific, relevant technologies that dominate their lives.
• To show students real-world technology applications that they can use to improve their academic skills.
• To produce students that will fulfill the Naperville Community Unit School District 203 mission.
