District 203 is once again fortunate enough to have our annual art show hosted at the Naperville Municipal Center so that our student work can be appreciated by the local community beyond the halls of our schools. The opening reception for the art show will be held at the Municipal Center 400 S. Eagle St. on Thursday, February 27 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Our display includes pieces from all different grade levels by roughly 40 different students. While the paintings, drawings, prints and other traditional media will be on display until March 12, we will have a special viewing of some of the digital works our students have created at the opening reception. A sampling of some of our animation projects will be displayed along with the video project our students created for the White House Student Film Festival. For those who may have missed the announcement, our submission was accepted into the festival and three Highlands students along with two students from Mill Street will be flying to Washington DC to represent our group at the White House. While only a few are were able to make the trip, the project was a collaborative effort by around 50 students and I would encourage everyone to come to the Municipal Center for the opening reception where we will publicly screen the video that earned our students national recognition.
It's that time of year when we are filling positions for next year's H&S board! Most positions have flexible hours that can fit into existing schedules. Click here for a list of openings for next year.
