According to Illinois State School Law, a non-custodial parent has the right to copies of notices, school calendars, conferences, report cards and other related school communication unless a court issued, signed and dated document/order limits that right.

A non-custodial parent must submit in writing such a request for information to the school.

Such a request must include the current address and phone number of the non-custodial parent.

Should such court documentation exist that limits communication/contact with one parent, it is the responsibility of the custodial parent to provide a copy of such documentation to the school.
