Welcome

Dear Ellsworth Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to Ellsworth School! We are pleased to have you as a partner in the education and development of your child throughout this school year and hopefully the years to come. One of our goals will be to see that the parents and guardians of our students, as well as the students themselves, enjoy their years here at Ellsworth School.

The Ellsworth administration and staff are firmly committed to educating students to become self-directed learners, complex thinkers, quality work producers, collaborative workers and community contributors. As such we expect our students to conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects the good upbringing they have had. Students should show respect for self, respect for others, respect for property and the rights of their fellow students, just as they would expect and appreciate respect from their fellow students. Our students' conduct both in and outside of the school itself is a reflection of our school. Good behavior helps make every school day a happy and rewarding experience.

We are very fortunate at Ellsworth School to have students that come to school ready and enthusiastic to learn with parents that support them in every way. Ongoing and open communication is an essential component of ensuring that together we provide educational experiences for children that are enjoyable, challenging and memorable. As always there are many challenges and successes that await us all. For these to be meaningful experiences, a partnership between parents, staff and students is vitally important. An integral part of that involvement revolves around effective and honest communication between school and home.

While our Web site will not be the only mode of communication, we will work together to continually update the material and information on it so as to keep you informed. Also we suggest that you consistently check your child's backpack for school/teacher notices.

If you have any questions that deal with in-class activities or issues please contact the school and ask to speak to the classroom teacher. If your concerns deal with the overall operation of the school or school programming please contact me directly.

Sincerely,
Richard Allen
Principal
