Guidance & Health Services

This department provides assistance - counseling and guidance services -  to the students, parents and staff of Naperville Central High School.  Our goal is to address and remediate concerns before they have a serious effect on the student or the school.  Methods may include conferencing with:

• Counselors
• Deans
• Individual Teachers
• School nurses
• Social Workers
• Psychologists

In addition to the personnel indicated above, the following services are also available to assist with academic and/or personal concerns.

• Peer Tutoring Program

• Registrar
• College & Career Center
• Writing Center
• Crisis Team

CRISIS TEAM

Unfortunately, throughout the school year students and/or staff may experience a crisis.  The students and/or staff may need emotional support to deal with this crisis.  Individually this support is provided appropriately by the SPS Department.  As the affected individuals exceed the capabilities of SPS, the Crisis Team is activated.  A very dedicated group of NCHS professionals freely volunteer their willingness to provide this support.  Should an emergency occur, the school principal should be notified (call 630-420-6422).  He will then convene the Crisis Team.

PREP HQ

Prep HQ is a unique tool available to all NCHS students to use for managing their college searches, summer programs, and scholarships.  Eventually, all NCHS students will be registered for using Prep HQ.
